emPower People Purple
Knit or crochet your own emPower People Project shawlette/kerchief with yarn sourced and dyed in the USA! Rik has handdyed this yummy domestically sourced yarn in our backyard right here in Asheville. Because of the silk and cotton blended with the superwash wool, the purple dye has a natural shading and texture (including some white/light purple patches) Both knit and crochet patterns require 250 yards of DK yarn so 1 skein is all you need for 1 project.
From the emPower People Project: "emPower people is a purple colored craftivism project aimed at uniting crafters to spark conversation, engagement, and action. Wear it when you vote, grocery shop, march, or knit [or crochet] in your socially isolated bedroom. We would love to see a sea of purple to represent unity so please tell your friends, family, knitting groups, or anyone who can knit, crochet, or sew a simple pattern. Make a bandana and a commitment to vote!"
