Regular price $25.00 $0.00 Unit price per
The yarn on this page was spun from fiber of Tunis sheep. Tunis is one of the oldest breeds indigenous to the United States. Though usually raised for meat, they have creamy colored fleeces that spins into a lustrous long-stapled yarn that is nice for dyeing. This hand-dyed Tunis wool is a 3ply bulky weight yarn. Each skein is 100 grams, 145 yrds and spun of 100% local Tunis wool.

Wellspring Farm is located in Burnsville in western North Carolina is a fiber animal farm raising llamas, Jacob Sheep, Merino, Tunis and Tunis/corriedale  sheep for their fiber.  Products produced on the farm include rovings, yarns and felted, knit and crocheted fiber items and breeding stock.  They offer farm tours, workshops, and lessons in spinning and fiber arts.
