Like DGY's Sari Silk Ribbon, the Chiffon ribbon is reclaimed from fabric scraps in clothing factories. These skeins are made from chiffon garments (silk/polyester blend). 100 grams per hank, approximately 80 yards.
Unlike the Sari Ribbon, which is overdyed to create singular "colorways," the Chiffon Ribbon is made from multiple printed fabric. Every single hank is unique! We highly recommend calling or emailing us to arrange a virtual shopping appointment so you can view every hank we have in stock and make your choice! Or you can just gamble and go with the creative, recycled, unique nature of the ribbon yarn and just see what comes your way!
This "yarn"/ribbon is great for accessories or adding some texture to knitted or crocheted projects. Sari Ribbon is sewn (and sometimes tied) together from cuttings off the sari factory floors, recycling tons of fiber waste in the process!

Darn Good Yarn focuses on sustainability by reclaiming fiber waste from the clothing industry abandoned in Nepal and India. DGY works with people in Nepal and India who otherwise live on less than $2 a day. The people DGY works with are not only supporting themselves, but their families as well. DGY strives to employ women as it has been shown they emphatically invest in their children's education, nutrition, and housing.
