The yarn on this page was spun from fiber of Tunis sheep. Tunis is one of the oldest breeds indigenous to the United States. Though usually raised for meat, they have creamy colored fleeces that spins into a lustrous long-stapled yarn that is nice for dyeing. This hand-dyed Tunis wool is a 3ply bulky weight yarn. Each skein is 100 grams, 145 yrds and spun of 100% local Tunis wool.
